Kenton County Fair Talent Show

KENTON COUNTY FAIR TALENT SHOW
Thursday July 20, 2006 6:30 p.m.
Pre-Registration Required by July 17 (entry form available here)
Check-in starts at 6 p.m.
Entry fee is $10 per category

* Participants must be between the ages of 9 and 19 as of January 1st 2006
* You must live in Kenton County in order to participate.
* You may enter more than one category but you must pay the entry fee for each category.
Example: Sue enters the dance category and also the drama/comedy category her entry fee
would equal $20.
* Entry fees are non-refundable.
* You must provide your own music, instruments, props, etc. There will be a sound system available for CD's and Karaoke; a microphone will also be available.
* The decisions of the judges will be final.
* Check-in will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. No late arrivals will be accepted.
* The show will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Talent Show Categories

Vocal (Solo):
Any one person singing with or without music. Music and lyrics must be suitable for all ages. If you are using music it must be of Karaoke style. No lip-syncing allowed. Performance is not to exceed 4 minutes from start to finish. Age groups will be as follows: 9-11 yrs/
12-15 yrs/16-19 yrs. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for each age group.(in this category only)

Vocal (Group): Any two or more persons singing with or without music. Music and lyrics must to suitable for all ages. If you are using music it must be of the Karaoke style. No lip-syncing allowed. Performance is not to exceed 4 minutes from start to finish.

Dance (Solo):
Any one person performing a dance with or without music. Music and lyrics must be
suitable for all ages as well as the dance movement itself. Performance must not exceed 4 minutes from start to finish.

Dance (Group):
Any two or more persons performing a dance with or without music. Music and lyrics must be suitable for all ages as well as the dance movement itself. Performance must not exceed 4 minutes from start to finish.

Instrumental (Solo):
Any one person performing with a musical instrument. No background music or vocals are allowed. Music selection must be suitable for all ages. Performance must not exceed
4 minutes from start to finish.

Instrumental (Duo):
Any two persons performing with a musical instrument. No background music or vocals are allowed. Music selection must be suitable for all ages. Performance must not exceed 4 minutes from start to finish.

Drama/Comedy:
One or more persons performing a short skit of dramatic or comedy style theatrics including Broadway style song and dance skits. Performance must be suitable for all ages.
Performance not to exceed 8 minutes from start to finish.

Prizes are for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category. Prize money is $50/$30/$15 for these placings within each category except for Vocal (Solo) category which will broken down into age groups and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each age group within the Vocal (Solo) category.
